Marcus of Jerusalem
Mark or Mahalia, sixteenth bishop of Jerusalem (served 135 – died 156) was the first non-Jewish bishop of Jerusalem, renamed as Aelia Capitolina. His secretary was traditionally thought to have been Aristo Pellaeus, though the Armenian chronicler Moses of Chorene's evidence for this is scanty, late (7th Century) and ambiguous.〔''A Dictionary of Christ and the Gospels: Volume I '' Page 118 James Hastings – 2004 "His statement that Aristo was secretary of Ardasches, which was so unfortunately ambiguous as to seem to make him secretary of Mark, bishop of Jerusalem, seems to be the starting-point for the last stage of the process."〕
